CT Scans for Oral Surgery and Implants

CT scans are used to see objects in great detail and in their 3D position in relation to other structures such as roots, sinuses, and nerve canals. The detailed images can can make surgery safer, quicker and more precise. The data can also be used to make surgical guides for implants to help ensure precise placement.

Red Arrow shows a supernumerary or extra tooth facing backwards, behind permanent upper incisors in this child. The image on the right is a 3 dimensional image.  The tooth was removed from the palate.

Impacted canine in palate needed to be removed prior to orthodontic movement of teeth.
